You cannot have the thermostats in the bathroom as they are not rated, the same with the neoFlo or the Wireless Contact Sensors. Therefore we would suggest the following:
For the underfloor heating, you would put the neoStat outside of the bathroom, then fit a floor probe. This would be the same regardless if you are using water or electric based heating. You would set the thermostat to read floor temperature. The reason for this is if it read air temperature, if the towel rail is warm, the thermostat may be satisfied with the temperature, therefore the underfloor heating will not come on. In other words, you could end up with a warm room and a cold floor.
If it is water based heating, you would use a neoStat V2
If it is electric based heating, you would use a neoStat-e V2.
You can fit a floor probe to a neoAir V3, however the stat would still need to be outside of the bathroom. It can be paired to either an RF Switch or UH8-RF V2 wiring centre.
To set to floor mode
- Using the left and right keys, go to the power icon on the left
- Press and hold tick until you see SETUP and CLOCK
- Press tick
- Press the up arrow to make small number 06
- Press the right arrow to make large number 02
- Press tick
Assuming that the probe is wired in correctly it should show FLOOR TEMP. If you see E1, either it is an incompatible probe, wired incorrectly or no probe fitted.
For the towel rail, you would get a second neoStat but turn it into a timer
For water based heating, again you would use a neoStat V2
For electric based heating you would use a neoStat-e V2
To change the neoStat to TIMER
- Go to the power icon on the left using the left/right keys
- Press and hold tick until you see SETUP
- Press and hold tick until all icons appear
- Change the 1 in the bottom left corner to 2 using the right key.
- Press tick.
An alternative if you cannot wire back valves, would be a neoAir V3 and RF Switch V2. You would put this into mode 3 before pairing. Note this does not apply for electric towel rails.
- Go to the power icon on the left
- Press and hold tick until you see SETUP
- Press and hold tick until all icons appear
- Choose option 3 in the bottom left corner
Pair the neoAir to the RF Switch V2.
Fit the floor probe and go to SETUP. If you take the front cover off, near the battery tray, there are two terminals to wire the probe into.
- Press tick
- Press the up arrow to make small number 06
- Press the right arrow to make small number 02.
- Press tick
The temperature will refer to the floor temp of the underfloor heating, the TIMER will be the towel rail. You can go into EDIT and select HEATING and TIMER for what you want to adjust.
