Our support team can be contacted either on 01254 669090, option 2 (lines open from 9am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday or by email support@heatmiser.com.
If you already have Heatmiser Equipment and are looking to upgrade, have a look here.
When contact is made, we will be asking the following questions.
- Are you looking at wired or wireless (radio frequency battery) thermostats?
- Is it water based heating or electric based heating? (For example Electric Mats)
- Will they be going into bathrooms?
- Will timers be needed for hot water?
- Any towel rails? Plus are they electric or water based?
- Any radiator systems?
- If you are having underfloor heating, will there be any wood engineered flooring?
- Would you be looking at something App controlled?
- If underfloor heating, how many manifolds and how many zones per manifold need to be controlled?
This will then give us an idea on what products will be best for you. Once we have this we will offer you what products are available.
Examples of different requirements
The following are some typical setups we may come across, again just to give you a rough guide. The assumption is App control is required.
Small Size Systems
One zone Of radiators and hot water hard wired
- 2x neoStat WIFI thermostats
Reason: There are not going to be any other heating zones so expansion is not required. It will be the most cost effective solution, one neoStat WIFI can be set for heating, the other as a time clock connected via a cylinder stat to a two port valve for the hot water.
One zone radiators and hot water battery powered thermostats
If the setup is going to one zone of radiators and one zone of hot water however the thermostat cannot be hard wired and App control is required, we may suggest the following:
- 1x miniKit Heating and Hot Water
The reason is because you can use the miniHub to connect to the hot water and heating. The neoAir that connects to the miniHub can work in duel mode for both heating and the hot water
Medium Size Systems
Two zones wet underfloor heating, one zone hot water, one zone radiators all hard wired.
- 3x neoStat V2 thermostats
- 1x neoStat-hw V2 timeclock
- 1x UH4 wiring centre
- 1x neoHub G2 for App control
Reason: neoStats V2 can be used for both water underfloor heating and radiators, the neoStat-hw V2 will control the hot water, the UH4 wiring centre can wire the two zones of underfloor heating, one zone of radiators and the hot water. The neoHub is for App control.
Two Zones Wet Underfloor Heating wired, one zone hot water, one zone radiators, battery powered. In addition a zone of electric underfloor heating for the bathroom.
- 2x neoStat V2
- 1x UH4 wiring centre
- 1x neoAir V3
- 1x neoStat-e V2
- 1x RF Switch V2
- Possible neoPlug
- 1x neoHub G2 for App control
Reason: In this case the neoStat V2 and the UH4 are just used for the wet underfloor heating. The neoAir V3 can be used in duel mode to control both radiators and hot water, they will send a wireless signal to the RF Switch which can be used to control both the radiators and hot water, therefore the neoStat-hw will not be needed. neoPlugs may be needed to help the signal between the neoAir and the RF Switch and from the neoAir and the neoHub if you are looking at App control. The neoStat-e would be sited outside the bathroom with the supplied floor probe fitted set to read floor temperature only.
Three zones wet underfloor heating, battery powered stats, combi boiler, one zone of radiators, plus an electric towel rail.
- 4x neoAir V3
- 1x UH8-RF V2 wiring centre
- 1x neoStat-e V2
- Possible neoPlugs
- 1x neoHub G2 for App control
Reason: The neoAir V3 thermostats will send radio signals to the UH8-RF V2 wiring centre to control both underfloor heating and radiator zones. The neoStat-e V2 can be turned into a time clock to control electric radiators, neoPlugs help with Signal and the neoHub for App control
Larger Systems
Two separate manifolds on two floors, wiring is possible, except for one zone on ground floor, six zones of underfloor heating on ground floor. Four zones of wet underfloor heating on 1st floor electric underfloor heating in a bathroom, plus a water based towel rail in the same bathroom. On the 2nd floor one zone of radiators and a zone of hot water.
- 9x neoStat V2
- 2x neoAir V3
- 1x RF Switch V2
- 1x UH4 wiring centre
- 1x UH8 wiring centre
- 2x neoStat-e V2
- 3x neoPlugs, one for each floor
- 1x neoHub G2 for App control
Reason: The UH4 and UH8 will control the two zones, you would wire 4 neoStat V2 to the UH4 and 5 neoStats to the UH8 which leaves one zone that you cannot wire. Here you can use the RF Switch V2, wire into one of the zones on the UH8 and pair one neoAir to do the extra zone of underfloor heating, you can then use Channel 2 of the RF Switch and pair the second neoAir to do the radiators. Either neoAir can be set in duel mode which will also control the hot water on the RF Switch.
1 neoStat-e with the floor probe fitted for the bathroom to control the electric underfloor heating, the second as a time clock for the towel rails,
neoPlug for each floor to help the signal between floors they will relay signals from each other
neoHub will give App control
Two manifolds, one zone requires 8 thermostats can can hard wire, the other will have 6 zones but it is not possible to wire the stats on the first floor.
- 8x neoStat V2 thermostats
- 1x UH8 wiring centre
- 6x neoAir V3 thermostats
- 1x UH8-RF V2 wiring centre
- neoPlugs to help with signal
- neoHub G2 for App control
Reason: the neoStats are wired into the UH8 and the neoAir are paired using a radio frequency to the UH8-RF V2, therefore you can have a combination of hard wired and battery powered thermostats. The reason for the plugs is it will help both the radio frequency of the neoAir thermostats and the mesh signal between the neoAir thermostats and the neoHub.
Other Useful Information
- Although the neoStat V2 is hard wired, it does send a wireless mesh signal to other neoStats and to the neoHub G2
- NeoAir thermostats do not repeat the mesh signal back to the neoHub.
- If you have wood engineered flooring or have secondary heating in a room, fit a floor probe which is fitted in a conduit. For the engineered flooring, it will prevent the floor for over heating, for secondary heating like towel rail, set the thermostat to read floor temperature so the underfloor heating is not influenced by the secondary heating.
- Floor probes must be fitted for electric underfloor heating.
- neoStat V2 and neoStat WIFI are wired in 3 core and earth 1.5mm
- neoStat-e V2 is wired in 3 core and earth 2.5mm.
- neoStat WIFI does not require a neoHub for App control
- neoAir V3 and neoStat V2 does require a neoHub if App control is required
