A working neoStat will show a display like the following:
- If there is a power button, tap the tick button
- If no power button, check if there is a battery tray at the bottom
- If there is a battery tray, release it and change the batteries

To confirm if it is hard wired
- If there is a single screw at the underside, it is hard wired
If just one thermostat is blank?
- Try swapping the front plate with another unit to see if the front comes on at another location? If the answer is yes, it is likely that the backplate is faulty or there is an electrical fault. The unit may need to be replaced.
- If you have the blue screen neoStat, the internal battery is for date and time backup only. Changing the battery will not fix the issue.
- If the front plate is dead at another unit, the unit is faulty and will need to be replaced.
If multiple thermostats are blank?
- Look for a wiring centre like the UH4 or the UH8
Is the power light on?
- If yes, it could either be a fault with the thermostats or wiring to the thermostats. Get a local electrician to investigate.
Is the power light off?
Check that the fuse spur is switched on for the UH8 and that your boiler is also switched on.
- If the answer is yes, likely that the internal fuse has blown. This is usually caused by something connected to the wiring centre, a faulty actuator, pump or valve. It would be a case of getting a local heating engineer or electrician to check the equipment.
If the display is showing --°C
- This usually means that the power supply in the back of the unit is failing and therefore the neoStat would need to be replaced.
